AD/S-62/4 Amdt 1 - Stabilizer and Tube Assemblies - CANCELLED

This document officially removes a maintenance requirement for Sikorsky S-62 helicopters.

What it does:

• Cancels a previous safety rule (an Airworthiness Directive) that required owners to inspect and replace specific tail stabiliser parts (tube assemblies and attachment fittings) with redesigned versions within a strict flight-hour limit.
• Ends the legal obligation to perform these specific repairs because the underlying safety defect has been resolved.

Who it affects:

• Owners, operators, and maintenance engineers working on Sikorsky S-62 series helicopters.

Why it matters:

• Reduces costs and paperwork: Operators no longer need to track flight hours for this specific replacement or pay for the mandated parts and labour.
• Safe deregulation: The rule is only removed because the "unsafe condition" that originally prompted it no longer exists, meaning the aircraft remain safe without this regulatory burden.
