Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive (a mandatory safety notice) requires owners of specific Gulfstream Rockwell 114 series aircraft to replace the sealant on their fuel tank access doors.

Who is affected? Owners of Model 114 and 114A aircraft with specific serial numbers listed in the document (covering particular production batches with serial numbers between 14000 and 14529).

What must be done? The sealant around fuel tank access doors must be replaced following the technical instructions in Part II of Rockwell International Service Bulletin SB-114-19. This maintenance must be completed within 100 hours of flight time after the specified deadline.

Why it matters: Long-term exposure to aviation fuel can cause the sealant to deteriorate and break apart. If this happens, pieces of sealant can contaminate the fuel filter and engine fuel system, potentially causing engine problems or failure.
