Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This is a safety order (called an Airworthiness Directive) for owners of specific Robin DR400 aeroplanes. It addresses a manufacturing defect where engine mounts can crack, potentially causing the engine to separate from the aircraft.

Who it affects: Only Robin DR400 model aircraft with specific serial numbers listed in Avions Pierre Robin Service Bulletin No. 89.

What you must do:

Right now: Inspect the engine mount for cracks before flying again
Keep checking: Repeat this inspection every 100 flight hours until you replace the part
Final deadline: Replace the engine mount completely by whichever comes first — your next major aircraft inspection or 1 July 1982

The directive points to the manufacturer's Service Bulletin No. 89 for the technical "how-to" instructions.
