This document officially cancels an old aircraft safety rule that is no longer needed.

What it originally did: In 1984, the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) issued a rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/RES/16) requiring aircraft owners and operators to stop using specific safety harness end fittings made by Davis Aircraft Products (part number FD 1497M). The manufacturer had recalled these parts because they did not meet safety specifications.

What this document does: It simply cancels that 1984 rule. The unsafe parts have been out of circulation for decades, so the requirement is now obsolete. This cancellation tidies up the rulebook by removing a redundant requirement.
