Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/RB211/41) that applied to Rolls Royce RB211 jet engines.

Who it affects: Airlines and maintenance providers operating aircraft with Rolls Royce RB211 engines, specifically regarding the thrust reverser units (the components that help slow the aircraft after landing by redirecting engine thrust forward).

Why it matters: The old Australian safety requirement is no longer necessary because it has been replaced by a newer European aviation safety rule (EASA AD 2009-0253). This cancellation prevents duplicate or conflicting standards and ensures Australian operators follow the current European directive instead.
