Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive mandates removal of specified high‑pressure compressor stage 1 and 2 disc assemblies from certain Rolls‑Royce RB211 engine types, by requiring compliance with Rolls‑Royce Alert Service Bulletin RB211‑72‑A5885 Rev. 2.

It affects operators, owners and maintenance organisations that have those discs installed, is intended to prevent uncontained disc failures, and makes adherence to the service bulletin mandatory (with practical costs and scheduling borne by operators/maintenance providers).
