Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This document cancels a previous aviation safety rule about thrust reversers (the parts on jet engines that help slow aircraft after landing) on Rolls-Royce RB211 engines.

What it does:

Revokes Airworthiness Directive AD/RB211/14 Amdt 1
Removes the mandatory requirement for aircraft operators to modify or inspect thrust reverser resolvers (electronic sensors that monitor these braking systems)
Takes effect on 14 April 2005

Why it matters: The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) issued the original rule to fix a safety issue, but the required modification has now been built into all affected engines. Since the entire fleet has been updated, the mandatory repair order is no longer needed.

Who it affects: Airlines and maintenance organisations operating Rolls-Royce RB211 engines, who no longer need to track or comply with this specific directive after the cancellation date.
