Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive mandates a safety fix for specific aircraft radio communication equipment. What it requires: Anyone operating an aircraft with a Rexair Amspeaker radio (models ACS-1A, ACS-1D, ACS-2, or ACS-2A) must install a 2-amp fuse in the positive power supply wire to the unit. The fuse must be in a holder permanently attached to the equipment. Who it affects: Aircraft owners, operators, and maintenance providers responsible for these specific radio models. Why it matters: The fuse acts as a circuit breaker to prevent electrical fires or equipment damage if the radio shorts or draws too much current. An engineering order from Rex Aviation (EO No. 191) provides the approved method for making this change.
