AD/RAD/84 - Honeywell RCZ-83( ) and RCZ-85( ) Communications Units - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous aviation safety rule about specific aircraft radio equipment.

The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has cancelled Airworthiness Directive AD/RAD/84, which previously applied to Honeywell RCZ-83 and RCZ-85 Communications Units (radio equipment used in aircraft).

What this means:

The safety requirements in the old directive no longer apply as of 27 September 2007
This affects aircraft owners or operators who have these specific Honeywell communication units installed
The old rule has been replaced by a newer directive (AD/RAD/88), which now contains the current safety requirements for this equipment

In short: If you were following the old rule (AD/RAD/84) for these Honeywell radios, you should now follow the replacement rule (AD/RAD/88) instead.
