AD/RAD/53 Australian Domestic Distance Measuring Equipment
Applicability: All Australian Domestic Distance Measuring Equipment (DME-A).
Requirement: Either remove the system from the aircraft or disable the system to prevent its operation.
Compliance: Prior to 1 January 1996.
4/95
Background: DME-A operates in the 200 MHz band and this band will not be available for use by aeronautical navigation services after 31 December 1995.
DME-A ground beacons will not provide a reliable service after 7 December 1995 and will be progressively decommissioned from that date.
Compliance with this Directive will prevent airborne DME-A systems generating radio interference in the 200 MHz band.
