Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This AD mandates a manufacturer-specified hardware modification (per Bendix/King Alert SB KDM 7000B-34-14) to a narrowly defined set of King KDM 7000B DMEs (listed P/Ns, SNs 21855–22526) because a failure can cause erroneous NAV receiver channel selection.

It affects aircraft owners/operators of those units: fitted DMEs must be modified within 150 flight hours or by 23 May 1989 (whichever is sooner); unfitted units must be modified before installation.
