Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This mandatory Civil Aviation Safety Authority Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of aircraft fitted with Collins TDR-950 transponders (serial numbers 8100–8600) to carry out the modification specified in Rockwell‑Collins Service Bulletin No. 8 (16 Oct 1978).

The change must be completed within 100 hours time in service after 28 February 1979 to prevent transponder malfunctions that could impair ATC tracking and increase collision risk.
