Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This is an airworthiness directive — a mandatory safety instruction for aircraft owners and operators.

What it requires: Owners of specific King brand radio transceivers must modify their equipment according to manufacturer instructions.

Who it affects:

Anyone operating an aircraft with a King KTR-900 series VHF transceiver (a type of radio communication device)
Only applies to units with serial numbers below 2001

What must be done:

Carry out the modification specified in King Radio Corporation Service Bulletin KTR-900 Export 1
Complete the work before 1 August 1968

Why it matters: Airworthiness directives are legally binding safety orders. If you don't comply, your aircraft may be grounded or deemed unairworthy. This specific directive addresses a technical issue with early production units of this radio model to ensure reliable communication in flight.
