Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

Owners/operators of aircraft fitted with Aircom LVC-4 VHF transceivers (serials <499) must modify those radios—typically by adding a band‑pass filter or equivalent—to stop harmful harmonic emissions and excessive receiver radiation. The goal is to reduce transmitter harmonics and limit receiver radiation to protect other avionics and ground/air communications. Compliance was required before 1 July 1968 because unchecked emissions can disrupt critical communications and aircraft systems.

Note: A suitable band pass filter installed in the transmission line close to the transceivers is an acceptable method of compliance.

Compliance: Before 1 July 1968.
