AD/R22/8 - Control Systems Safety Washers - Installation - CANCELLED

What this does: This document officially cancels a previous safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/R22/8) that required owners of Robinson R22 helicopters to install special safety washers in their rotor control systems.

Background: The original directive (dating back to 1981) mandated that safety washers be installed according to Robinson Service Letter No. 9 within 100 hours of flight time. As of 7 May 2009, that requirement no longer applies.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Robinson R22 series helicopters who were previously required to comply with this specific maintenance directive.

Why it matters: If you were tracking or scheduling compliance with this washer installation rule, you can disregard it. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has removed this regulatory requirement because it is no longer necessary for safety.
