AD/R22/28 - AM-Safe Harness Buckle Assemblies - CANCELLED

This Airworthiness Directive (AD) permanently cancels a previous safety rule about helicopter seatbelts.

What it is: Airworthiness Directives are mandatory safety instructions issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) for aircraft. This document officially cancels directive AD/R22/28.

What the previous rule required: Owners and operators of Robinson R22 helicopters had to inspect and replace the connectors on AM-Safe harness buckle assemblies (seatbelt buckles). This work had to follow Robinson Service Bulletin No. 55, and be completed either before the next maintenance release or within 100 hours of flight time after October 1985.

What changed: As of 7 May 2009, this safety requirement is completely cancelled. Owners and maintenance engineers no longer need to perform these specific inspections or replacements.

Who is affected: Anyone who owns, operates, or maintains Robinson R22 series helicopters that were previously subject to the buckle assembly inspection requirement.
