AD/R22/26 - Clutch Actuator Overtravel Limit Switch - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/R22/26) that applied to Robinson R22 helicopters.

What it means:

• Old rule: Previously, helicopter owners had to modify the clutch actuator overtravel limit switch (a safety component that prevents mechanical overtravel) within 25 hours of flight time, following instructions in Robinson Service Bulletin No. 45.
• New status: That maintenance requirement is now completely removed. The cancellation took effect on 7 May 2009.
• Who is affected: Owners and operators of Robinson R22 series helicopters who were still subject to the original directive.

Why it matters: Operators no longer need to perform this specific modification to stay compliant with Australian aviation safety regulations. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority determined this unique Australian requirement was no longer necessary for flight safety.
