Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

This AD requires the permanent retirement (scrapping) of the master rod (PN 11865) in certain Pratt & Whitney Wasp radial engines (R1340‑S3H1‑G‑CER and R1340‑S3H1‑G) after one overhaul period of agricultural operations.

It affects owners/operators of vintage agricultural aircraft using those engines and is issued because harsh ag flying can cause rod failure; compliance is immediate (rods must be removed from service forthwith).
