AD/PT6B/1 - Gas Generator Case

What it does: Requires owners/operators of PT6B-36 and -36A engines (unless fitted with the excluded parts) to carry out dye‑penetrant inspections of the gas‑generator case longitudinal seam weld and to repair any cracks in accordance with Pratt & Whitney Canada Service Bulletin SB 11031R1 (or later). Initial inspection timing is before 1200 hours TIS or within 100 hours of the AD (whichever is later), then every 600 hours; repairs must be completed before further flight.

Who pays and who decides: operators pay for inspections and repairs; the Civil Aviation Safety Authority enforces the inspection schedule and accepts the SB as the compliance method.
