Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This is a mandatory safety notice (called an Airworthiness Directive) requiring owners of Percival Proctor series aircraft to upgrade their front seat restraints to proper safety harnesses.

Who it affects: Anyone who owns or operates any model of Percival Proctor aeroplane.

What you must do: Fit a safety harness to each front seat restraint system. The installation must follow a specific plan (called a "scheme") that has been approved by the Director-General of Civil Aviation. Guidance for preparing this plan is available in Airworthiness Advisory Circular No. 62 from March 1972.

Deadline: The modification had to be completed before 1 December 1973.

Why it matters: This improves pilot and passenger safety by ensuring proper restraint systems are in place to protect occupants during turbulence or in the event of an accident.
