AD/PR/17 - Hub Driving Centre Flange - Inspection - CANCELLED

This document cancels a previous aviation safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive, or AD) that required mechanical inspections on specific aircraft propellers.

What it affects

• Aircraft: Armstrong-Whitworth Argosy 100 (a historic cargo aircraft)
• Component: The "hub driving centre flange" on Dowty Rotol variable-pitch propellers (the central part connecting the propeller blades to the engine)

What it does Previously, owners and operators had to inspect this flange for defects. This cancellation removes that requirement effective 19 November 2009. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) determined the inspection was no longer necessary for airworthiness.

Why it matters For the few operators maintaining these specific vintage aircraft, this eliminates a mandatory maintenance task, reducing compliance costs and paperwork.
