Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What it does: This document cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/PMTV/2) that required specific protection for the leading edges of propeller blades on certain variable-pitch propellers manufactured by MT Propellers.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of aircraft fitted with MT variable-pitch propellers that were previously subject to this maintenance requirement.

Why it matters: The Australian requirement is no longer necessary because a European safety directive (EASA AD No. 2006-0345R1) now covers the same safety issue. This cancellation removes a redundant compliance burden—operators now only need to follow the European directive instead of complying with both rules.
