Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

What it does: This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of aircraft fitted with McCauley 2A36C23 and 2A36C82 propellers (for example on Beech Debonair and Bonanza 35/36 series) to convert those hubs to an oil‑filled configuration following McCauley Service Letter 1989‑5A. CASA issued the AD to address an unsafe condition identified by the country of origin.

Who pays and what changes: Aircraft owners/operators pay for the conversion, which must occur at the next propeller workshop visit where blades are removed, at the next overhaul, or by 31 December 2003; previously modified propellers per the service letter are acceptable.
