Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive required operators of Embraer 120 and CASA CN-235 aircraft fitted with Hamilton Standard 14RF-9 or 14RF-21 propellers to carry out mandated repairs/inspections per the manufacturer’s service instructions to replace or correct plastic (Rynite) blade retaining rings. The rings can crack and allow blade separation, risking loss of control; work was due by the next propeller removal or 31 December 1994.
