Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive (AD) mandates a safety modification for specific aircraft propellers to ensure they remain airworthy.

What it requires: Any McCauley model 1B235/BFA7862 propeller fitted to a Beech A23-24 aircraft must undergo the modification detailed in McCauley Service Bulletin No. 67 (an official manufacturer repair instruction) before being returned to service.

When it applies: The modification is required before installation in an aircraft if the propeller has just completed an overhaul performed after 11 July 1968.

Who is affected:

Owners and operators of Beech A23-24 aircraft equipped with these specific propellers
Aircraft maintenance organisations overhauling or reinstalling these propeller models

In practical terms, if you are putting one of these propellers back on a plane after servicing it (and that servicing happened after mid-1968), you must perform this factory-specified update first.
