Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive covers Pilatus Porter PC‑6 aircraft and requires owners/operators to either retire the horizontal stabiliser before 10,000 hours or modify it for improved inspection access and then carry out Authority‑approved inspections for cracking at intervals no longer than 100 hours. It’s aimed at reducing undetected fatigue cracking; it shifts costs to operators, who must choose between a one‑time replacement or ongoing inspection/maintenance under an approved scheme.
