Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This AD requires owners/operators of Beech model 278 propellers (with >200 hours TIS) to inspect the weld where the hub barrel joins the hydraulic cylinder for visible damage and oil leaks, and to perform magnetic‑particle (or approved equivalent NDT) inspections. Visual checks are due within 25 hours TIS and every 100 hours thereafter; NDT is required before reinstalling a propeller after overhaul. Repairs are not permitted under this AD, so detected defects will likely require removal/replacement.
