Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of specific Piper PA‑46‑350P aeroplanes (serials 4622191–4622200 and 4636001–4636175) to install reinforcement plates on the wing forward and aft attach fittings using Piper kit part number 766‑656 within 100 hours time‑in‑service after 7 October 1999. CASA issued the directive after an FAA report that substandard sheet steel may have been used in those fittings, creating a risk of structural failure and wing separation; affected operators bear the cost and downtime to comply.
