AD/PA-46/2 - Interface of Elevator to Horizontal Stabiliser - Inspection and Modification - CANCELLED

What this does: This document officially cancels a previous aircraft safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive or AD) that applied to Piper PA-46 Malibu aeroplanes.

What the old rule required: The original directive mandated a one-time inspection and modification of where the elevator (the movable flap on the tail that controls up/down movement) connects to the horizontal stabiliser (the fixed rear wing that keeps the plane level). This work had to follow Piper Service Bulletin 783 and be completed before flying the aircraft after September 1984.

What changed: As of 12 March 2009, this requirement is cancelled. Owners and operators of these aircraft no longer need to comply with this specific directive, though other maintenance rules may still apply.
