Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: A cancellation of a previous safety directive for certain light twin-engine aircraft.

What it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-44 Seminole aeroplanes.

What it does: This instrument cancels an earlier Airworthiness Directive (a mandatory safety rule) that required regular inspections of engine mount rings every 100 hours of flight time until the mounts were reinforced by welding.

Why it matters: The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has determined these mandatory inspections are no longer necessary. Once cancelled, aircraft owners and operators no longer need to follow the previous inspection schedule for engine mount frames.
