AD/PA-42/17 - Main Landing Gear Actuator Attachment Bolt - CANCELLED

What this does This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-42/17) that required owners of specific Piper PA-42-1000 aircraft to periodically inspect and replace the main landing gear actuator attachment bolt every 500 flight hours.

Who it affects Owners and operators of Piper PA-42-1000 (Cheyenne III) aeroplanes.

Why it matters As of 9 April 2009, the mandatory inspection and replacement requirement is no longer in force. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority determined that using a compulsory directive to enforce this particular maintenance task was no longer necessary, removing the compliance burden for operators of these aircraft.
