Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires repeated inspections of the upper forward and aft vertical fin spars on specific Piper PA-38-112 serials (38-78A0001 to 38-82A0122) to detect cracks where the horizontal stabiliser brackets attach, continuing until reinforcement Kit 764-965 is fitted.

It affects owners/operators of those aircraft and maintenance organisations that install the kit; it matters because it mitigates risk of structural failure by forcing periodic inspection or a one‑time reinforcement.
