What this rule does

This Airworthiness Directive (a mandatory aviation safety order) requires owners of specific Piper PA-36 Pawnee Brave aircraft to inspect and modify the forward and aft wing attachment fittings.

Who it affects

Owners and operators of Piper PA-36 series aeroplanes with serial numbers 36-7360003 to 36-7560044.

What must be done

Inspection & Modification: Carry out the work according to Piper Service Bulletin No. 471 (the technical manual referenced in this directive).
First Deadline: Complete the initial inspection/modification within 100 flight hours after 29 August 1975.
Ongoing Requirement: Repeat the inspection every 500 flight hours thereafter (this is a recurring safety check).

Why it matters

Wing attachment fittings are critical structural components that connect the wings to the fuselage. This rule ensures these parts are checked regularly to prevent structural failure during flight.
