Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This airworthiness directive requires owners/operators of specified Piper PA-36-300 and PA-36-375 aeroplanes (particular serial-number ranges) that have not been modified under Piper Service Bulletin No. 828 to inspect the forward fuselage tubing at the engine‑mount attachment areas per that service bulletin. Inspections must be done before the next flight after 12 May 1986 and then every 25 hours to detect cracks that, if undetected, could lead to engine/mount separation; operators bear the inspection work and downtime.
