AD/PA-36/11 - Muffler Clamp - Installation - CANCELLED

What this is: This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive or AD) for specific agricultural aircraft.

Which aircraft: Piper PA-36 Pawnee Brave series aeroplanes.

The old rule: Previously, owners had to install a specific muffler clamp on these aircraft within 100 hours of flying time after May 1976, following a manufacturer's service bulletin (Piper SB No. 489).

What changed: As of 12 March 2009, this requirement is completely cancelled. Owners and operators no longer need to install this clamp or comply with this rule because the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) decided it was no longer necessary for safety.

Why it matters: If you own one of these aircraft, you can ignore the previous muffler clamp requirement. However, standard aircraft maintenance rules still apply.
