AD/PA-34/8 - Wing Walk - Inspection and Modification - CANCELLED

What this does This document scraps an old aircraft maintenance rule for Piper PA-34 Seneca aeroplanes.

The old rule Since 1972, owners of these twin-engine aircraft had to inspect and modify the wing walk (the textured non-slip area on the wing where pilots and passengers step when boarding) according to Piper Service Letter LDB-20. They had 25 flight hours to get it done.

What's changed As of 23 October 2008, that requirement is cancelled. Owners and maintenance crews no longer need to perform this modification or keep records proving compliance.

Who is affected Anyone who owns, operates, or maintains a Piper PA-34 Seneca series aircraft. This removes a decades-old maintenance burden, though any modifications already completed can remain in place.
