Plain English Summary

3/10 complexity

This directive requires recurring inspections of the exhaust system on specified Piper PA‑34‑200 (Seneca) aeroplanes with certain serial and exhaust part numbers: a pilot‑performable daily check for cracks, looseness and broken welds, and a deeper inspection (removing the cabin air heater shroud to check for chafing and cowling damage) to be done per Piper SB No. 373A/FAA AD 73‑14‑12.

It affects owners/operators who must add these checks to routines, bear associated time and repair costs, and follow the initial 10‑hour then 25‑hour inspection cadence.
