AD/PA-34/42 Amdt 1 - Aileron Hinge Fitting Assembly - CANCELLED

What this does: This document formally cancels a previous aviation safety rule that required owners of Piper PA-34 Seneca aircraft to inspect the aileron hinge fittings (the metal parts connecting wing flaps to the aircraft) for corrosion every three years.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-34 Seneca series aeroplanes.

Why it matters: The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has decided this specific Australian inspection requirement is no longer necessary for safety. The original rule was not based on manufacturer service bulletins and was unique to Australia. Removing it reduces maintenance burdens for aircraft owners without compromising safety. The cancellation took effect on 23 October 2008.
