Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This is a safety directive that requires owners of specific Piper PA-34 Seneca aircraft to replace the propeller damper screws.

Who it affects:

Owners of Model PA34-200 aircraft with specific serial numbers (ranging from 34-725001 to 34-7450110, with several gaps and exclusions in the sequence)
Only applies if the aircraft has a specific "Propeller Damper Installation Kit" installed (as per Piper Service Letter No. 677A)

What must be done:

Replace the propeller damper screws following the technical instructions in Piper Service Letter No. 706
Complete the work within 100 hours of flying time after 31 July 1974

Why it matters: This prevents potential mechanical failures in the propeller damping system, which could affect flight safety. It is legally binding under the Civil Aviation Regulations.
