Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this is: A mandatory safety order (called an Airworthiness Directive) that requires owners of specific Piper Seneca aircraft to inspect a critical landing gear component.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-34-200 (Seneca) aircraft with these specific serial numbers:

34-7250001 to 34-7250360
34-7350001 to 34-7350353
34-7450001 to 34-7450082

What it requires: You must inspect the nose gear drag link assembly (the structural linkage that helps the front wheel fold up and down) within 100 hours of flight time after 28 June 1974.

How to comply: Follow the inspection procedures detailed in Piper Service Bulletin No. 413 (a technical instruction manual from the manufacturer).

Why it matters: This prevents potential mechanical failures of the nose landing gear that could cause accidents during takeoff or landing.
