AD/PA-34/10 - Rudder Bar Assembly - Inspection and Modification - CANCELLED

This document cancels an old aviation safety rule for owners of Piper PA-34 Seneca aircraft.

What was the old rule? Since 1973, owners had to inspect the rudder bar assembly (the foot pedals that steer the aircraft on the ground) every 100 hours of flying time. This repeated inspection was required until a specific strengthening modification—welding extra metal plates called doublers onto the assembly—was performed.

What changes? This directive permanently removes that inspection requirement. The rule is no longer necessary because the required modification has been widely implemented over the decades since 1973.

Who is affected? Owners, operators, and maintenance engineers of Piper PA-34 Seneca series aircraft. They no longer need to track compliance with the old inspection schedule or perform these specific rudder bar checks.
