AD/PA-32/51 - Fuel Line - Modification - CANCELLED

What this does This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-32/51) that required owners of Piper PA-32 Cherokee Six aircraft to modify their fuel lines.

Who it affects Owners and operators of Piper PA-32 (Cherokee Six) series aeroplanes registered in Australia.

What it means for you If you own one of these aircraft, you no longer need to comply with the previous fuel line modification requirement that was originally mandated back in 1977. The safety modification specified in Piper Service Bulletin No. 557 is no longer legally required.

Background The original rule required the fuel line modification to be completed within 100 hours of flying time after August 1977. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) has now determined this requirement is no longer necessary, effective 25 September 2008.
