AD/PA-32/16 - Control Wheel Retaining Pin - Modification - CANCELLED

What this does: This document formally cancels an old aviation safety rule (called an Airworthiness Directive or AD) that applied to Piper PA-32 Cherokee Six aeroplanes.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of Piper PA-32 series aircraft. However, since this merely removes a rule that was already satisfied decades ago, no action is required.

Why it matters: The original rule (from 1969) required a one-time mechanical modification to the control wheel retaining pin to prevent safety issues. Because all affected aircraft were required to complete this fix by 1969, the unsafe condition no longer exists in any operational aircraft. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority is cleaning up the rulebook by formally cancelling this obsolete requirement effective 25 September 2008.
