AD/PA-32/15 Amdt 2 - Rudder Trim Arm Assembly Cracking - CANCELLED

This instrument cancels a previous aviation safety requirement for Piper PA-32 (Cherokee Six) aircraft.

What this affects Owners and operators of Piper PA-32 series aeroplanes (light, single-engine aircraft commonly used for private flying and charter work).

What it used to require The previous rule (Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-32/15) required mechanics to inspect the rudder trim arm assembly for cracks every time the aircraft's maintenance release was renewed (similar to a roadworthy certificate for cars). This was a unique Australian requirement not mandated by the aircraft manufacturer.

What this does This amendment cancels that inspection requirement entirely as of 25 September 2008. The Civil Aviation Safety Authority reviewed the safety data and determined the mandatory inspections were no longer necessary to maintain airworthiness.

Why this matters Aircraft owners no longer need to pay for this specific inspection during routine maintenance, reducing compliance costs without compromising safety.
