Plain English Summary

1/10 complexity

What this does: This Airworthiness Directive (AD) orders owners of specific Piper Cherokee Six aircraft to replace their brake discs before 1 October 1968. It applies only to planes with serial numbers 32-1 through 32-623.

Who it affects: Owners and operators of early-model Piper PA-32 Cherokee Six aeroplanes within that serial number range.

Why it matters: Defective brake discs can crack or fail during landing or taxiing, potentially causing runway overruns or loss of steering control. The directive references Piper Service Bulletin No. 233 for the technical specifications of the replacement parts.

The bottom line: If your aircraft is on the list, you must fit new brake discs by the deadline or the aircraft cannot legally fly. It's a blunt, non-negotiable safety command with no loopholes or extensions.
