Plain English Summary

4/10 complexity

This Airworthiness Directive requires owners/operators of specified Piper PA-31 series aeroplanes (certain serial numbers) to inspect and repair the outboard flap track attachment and install a permanent modification. It mandates repeated inspections until the permanent fix is applied and extends the AD to more models while allowing extra time to complete the modification. The rule prevents possible flap-attachment failure that could threaten aircraft control in flight.
