Plain English Summary

2/10 complexity

This directive requires a one‑time visual inspection of the Piper/Cleveland nosewheel (P/N 551/778 or 40‑120A) on PA‑31T aircraft S/N 31‑7620012 and up (except those already fitted with Piper P/N 551‑758 or BF Goodrich P/N 3‑1331). Cracked wheels must be replaced before further flight; if replaced with the same P/N, the wheel must then be inspected before every flight.

Pilots may perform and certify these inspections. Owners/operators bear inspection and replacement costs and may choose retrofits to avoid recurring checks.
