AD/PA-31/42 Amdt 2 - Airspeed Placard - Installation - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels a previous aviation safety rule (Airworthiness Directive) that required owners of Piper PA-31 series aeroplanes to install a specific airspeed placard in the cockpit.

What the old rule required: The original directive mandated a one-time installation of a cockpit placard according to manufacturer service bulletins (Piper SB No. 478 or SB No. 544). Aircraft owners originally had to complete this within 100 hours of flight time after May 1977.

Why it was cancelled: The Civil Aviation Safety Authority cancelled this requirement because it had become obsolete. Since the compliance deadline passed decades earlier, all affected aircraft would have been modified long before this cancellation took effect.

Who is affected: Owners and operators of Piper PA-31 series aircraft. No action is required—this cancellation simply removes an outdated rule from the books.
