AD/PA-31/32 - Electrical Power Indicators - Modification - CANCELLED

This document officially cancels an old aviation safety rule that required owners of Piper PA-31 series aircraft (twin-engine planes like the Navajo) to install special electrical monitoring equipment.

What it cancelled: Previously, aircraft operators had to install an ammeter (a gauge showing electrical current flow) in each generator feeder line within 200 hours of flying time after August 1974.

What this means: As of 31 July 2008, that installation requirement no longer applies. Owners of these aircraft no longer need to install these specific ammeters to comply with Australian regulations.

Why this matters: This removes an outdated technical requirement that was unique to Australia and not based on manufacturer guidance. It reduces maintenance costs and regulatory burdens for operators of these older aircraft.
