AD/PA-31/25 Amdt 1 - Control Shaft Collar - Modification - CANCELLED

What this does

This document officially cancels (revokes) an old aircraft safety rule called Airworthiness Directive AD/PA-31/25.

Who it affects

Owners and operators of Piper PA-31 series aeroplanes (a type of twin-engine aircraft). However, this cancellation actually means they no longer need to do anything—because the work was already completed decades ago.

What the old rule required

The original directive (issued in 1976) required a one-time modification to the control shaft collar (a mechanical part in the flight controls). Owners had to perform this work within 100 hours of flying time after January 1976, following instructions from the manufacturer (Piper Service Bulletin No. 487).

Why it matters

Since the deadline was 1976, every affected aircraft would have been modified long ago. This amendment tidies up the law book by removing an obsolete requirement that is no longer enforceable as of 31 July 2008.
